HIST 129: California History

This is a college-level introduction to the history of California. This course will emphasize the social, political, and economic aspects of that history and will focus on the manner in which culture, race, ethnicity, class, and gender shape understandings of social inclusion and exclusion. By the end of the course, you will be expected to identify, describe, analyze, and synthesize the components most influential to the historical development of California. To this end, our course is both chronologically and thematically structured.
